SAN FRANCISCO HOTEL REVIEW:
We were in and out so fast that we weren't able to enjoy the hot baths or even the complimentary upgrade to a suite. Located in Japantown, the Hotel Kabuki is a lovely traditional Japanese hotel, with tatami mat floors and a Japanese-style sliding door sleeping room off of the main room (presumably for the parents). We liked the traditional Japanese design, although we liked the jacuzzi tub even more. Though this hotel is a bit West in terms of location, nothing is ever extraordinarily far in San Francisco, a town that can be traversed in half a day.
We love fast and hot, blurred and intemperate. We love dub in the street, gelato in North Beach, sparkling Mumm rosé on a gorgeous afternoon. We love Soba, Noba, coffee at the Ferry Building, and morning pastries at Tartine. A city to drive it like you stole it, wear it like you made it, DJ til you're famous, and start a corporation - while the East Bay sleeps.
