NEW YORK HOTEL REVIEW:
We anticipated this place hotly but it's one of our least favorites from the Thompson group, with a giant steel structure visually dominating Allen Street. The effect of a building too large for its surroundings is a bit like a mansion sorely out of balance with its bungalow neighbors. The incongruity aside, this property is decently modern with a high-floor lounge (Above Allen), but the ceiling was too low for us to feel relaxed.
Rushing through the city, champagne on your tongue, rock'n'roll at your feet. Slurring through downtown speakeasies, raucous warehouses, and bold, swanky, rooftops. Breathless conversation, skylines for days, and city views that skip a beat. They call it New York, but we say it's drop dead.
